Silvan is a studio and workshop for the design and manufacture of bespoke fitted and freestanding furniture, architectural joinery and complete interiors.
We are passionate about the enriching qualities of natural, local materials - working with whole trees we create objects and spaces with precision, warmth and tactility.
Based in our workshop in rural East Lothian, Scotland, Silvan is a collective of experienced designer-makers. Drawing on our combined skillset, ranging from traditional handcraft techniques through to modern technological production processes, we strive to consistently exceed client expectations, no matter the scale of the project.
As makers we thrive on making considered innovations in our manufacturing processes and craftsmanship. As designers we take a quiet, pared-back approach, allowing the integrity of our carefully sourced and crafted materials to speak for themselves.
From bespoke domestic commissions to commercial and cultural projects, complete spaces to freestanding pieces, we are as at home guiding our clients through the full design process as we are resolving the fine details on architects' drawings.
